The Federal Plastic/Chromoly peg is a typical modern street component, featuring a solid chromoly core and a fast-sliding nylon outer sleeve. The heat-treated 4130 chromoly core provides a stronger and more durable foundation for heavier impacts and harder grinds, while the plastic outer sleeve slides much smoother on ledges and rails compared to a traditional steel peg.
One of the key design details is that the chromoly core slightly extends beyond the sleeve. This helps distribute harder impacts more effectively, reducing the chance of the outer plastic cracking or wearing out too quickly. During grinds, it feels quieter, less hang-up prone, and more controlled, especially during technical street riding.
The peg is designed for 14 mm axles and also works with 10 mm setups thanks to the included adapter. Federal did not focus on flashy design here, but instead on delivering that raw street feel where the peg stays solid and reliable even after long-term heavy use.
