The Federal Plastic/Alloy peg is the kind of street BMX component that feels most at home during grinds. The internal aluminium core provides a solid and rigid foundation, while the outer nylon sleeve slides much faster and smoother on ledges and rails compared to a traditional steel peg. It hangs up less, feels quieter, and delivers a more controlled grind feel during technical street riding.
One important detail of the design is that the aluminium core slightly extends beyond the plastic sleeve, helping prevent the outer sleeve from taking the full impact during harder hits. This improves sleeve durability during heavier use.
The peg is compatible with 14 mm axles and can also be used with 10 mm setups thanks to the included adapter. Federal did not try to create an overdesigned component here, but instead focused on building a street peg that stays stable, slides well, and continues to feel reliable even after long-term abuse.
