The Federal Command XL plastic pedal is an upgraded version of the classic Command platform, designed with a larger surface area and improved foot stability in mind. The wider platform extends closer to the crank arm, which not only provides better shoe support, but also helps reduce unwanted pedal bites during crank arm grinds.
The reinforced nylon-composite body handles repeated impacts and constant stress well, while the rigid platform construction creates a more stable and controlled feel during harder riding. The micro-textured surface and tapered pins work together to improve grip, helping keep the foot securely positioned on the pedal while riding.
The wider shape becomes especially noticeable with larger shoe sizes or more aggressive riding, where stronger support and more even pressure distribution are important. The chromoly spindle provides increased strength under side impacts and heavier loads, while the internal Allen key interface allows for easier installation and maintenance.
